About VorpalJack
VorpalJack was created in 2004 to be a single point of contact for the customer base its founders had already developed. Whether it be web design, application development, web marketing or hosting; John Cooper and Brad Ledbetter strive to meet the needs of their customers. As word grew, so did their business; creating the necessity for VorpalJack to expand its team.
Along with this team of subject matter experts, VorpalJack Studios brings more than 50 years combined experience to the web marketplace. By developing customizable and simple solutions for our customers, we deliver on our promise to bring the web within your reach.
Our Mission
VorpalJack Studios is a software development studio dedicated to
providing creative solutions that entertain our customers, teach their
learners, or accelerate their business growth.
We believe that software should be easy to use, help achieve specific goals, and never, ever get in the way.
In our custom development work, we bring these ideals to the table from the start, helping our clients envision how their needs can be met while maintaining elegance and ease of use. Just because something looks complex, it doesn't have to be. Conversely, because something is simple, it doesn't have to look simplistic.
Key Players
VorpalJack is comprised of the highest quality engineering, art, and content development talent. If you are interested in joining our team, see the sidebar at the left.
John Cooper, President/CEO
John Cooper has managed various types of software development for well over 10 years, and, not coincidentally has been an avid computer and role-playing gamer for more than 25 years. John started as a multimedia developer in the early 1990s and since then has shipped dozens of products, ranging from training courses to games to productivity software. His first foray into the entertainment industry, Deathmatch Maker, was one of the best selling Quake add-on products. John was also an integral part of the business development team that founded Redstorm Entertainment and was a founding member of Timeline Computer Entertainment where he served as Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager and Game Designer.
Brad Ledbetter, Director of Engineering
Most recently, Brad Ledbetter was the tools engineer responsible for building all game development tools at Beyond Games. Before that he was integral to Playstation 2 production at Timeline Computer Entertainment. Brad is also the resident Java, ActionScript, database, and MFC expert at VorpalJack. Brad has been developing games for more than 7 years, and has played them aggressively his entire life.
Whats up with the Bunny?
This is a common question. The VorpalJack is our Corporate Mascot and a depiction of our mentality. Legends speak of a rabbit who does not die, foraging relentlessly for food. Much like the VorpalJack, we stop at nothing to produce for our customers. Though we are a Technology company, our customer is at the heart of everything we do; and we see ourselves as a customer-service business. Plus, he's awful cute.
